Q Why should I use double glazed windows and doors?

A Double Glazing has been proven extensively in the building industry around the world for over 50 years, it is the ideal window and door system for reducing noise and saving energy.



Q What are the advantages of uPVC windows and doors?

A uPVC will not rot, corrode or discolour. Making it ideal for all areas especially coastal applications. It is unaffected by salt corrosion and maintenance free as it requires no painting or treatment.



Q I live on a busy main road, can your windows reduce the traffic noise?

A YES. Our window system is designed for a double glazed unit, and with certain glass configurations we can achieve Sound Reduction Ratings (RW's)
of 44. We have installed our system into both domestic and commercial applications primarily to alleviate noise problems such as traffic and rowdy neighbours.



Q The Australian climate can be very harsh. How will this affect uPVC?

A Rehau, the manufacturer of the extrusion, have had their product on test in the Arizona Desert for over 20 years. It has proven resistant to the unforgiving ultra violet rays and is specially formulated to suit the Australian climate.



Q Where are the windows made?

A The windows and doors are fabricated in our purpose made facilities in Brisbane. The uPVC extrusion we use is manufactured by Rehau, a German based company with extrusion plants throughout the world and the Euro profile is extruded in Australia to an Italian design. Making our product specially designed for the harsh Australian climate.



Q What colours are available?

A uPVC comes in a boutique selection of colours including wood grain, our Thermal Break aluminium comes in an extensive range of powdercoated or anodized colours.


Q Can I fit the windows myself?

A We offer a complete installation service including a professional window exchange service. Winsulation Double Glazing is licensed by BSA in Queensland and NSW to perform quality installations backed by a 10 year warranty. You can also fit the windows yourself using our installation advisors service or have your own builder install for you.


Q Are double glazed windows available in any style?

A There are very few limitations when using double glazed windows, in most cases we can use our systems to create the same style as aluminium or timber systems. We also have our own innovative designs, which are constantly being updated. The usual styles of casement, awning, tilt and turn, fixed and sliders are all available using our European style systems.



Q Will the windows withstand the cyclonic conditions that sometimes occur in Australia?

A All our windows and doors have been tested to conform to Australian Standards and we are continually testing and improving our products to meet the standards and conditions as appropriate - see our performance page.



Q Do you offer a guarantee?

A All our products are backed by a no-nonsense written ten year guarantee.



Q Where do you supply and install your windows in Australia?

A Our manufacturing base is in Brisbane and we install all over South East Queensland and northern NSW, however, we supply products all over Australia.



Q What type of Double Glazing do you offer with your systems?

A Our profile is extruded to accept glazing panels up to 30mm, so virtually any combination of Double Glazing can be used without any design change. We can also supply a whole range of acoustic, energy efficient, fire rated or tinted glass panels.


Q Can I replace my existing windows with your double glazed systems?

A Our double glazed windows and doors are ideal as replacement, as we offer a full window exchange service and are licensed under the BSA.


Q How does Secondary Glazing compare with your double glazed products?

A Secondary Glazing has proven our best seller and extremely popular and successful in all applications - it is efficient for insulation whilst being very affordable and easy to install.


Q Do I have to change my existing window?

A No, Winseal Secondary Double Glazing fits to your existing reveals or window ledge - we can also fit new extensions if there is not enough room. Window fabrics or curtains are adjusted to suit.


Q I live in an old character style home, how will Secondary Double Glazing look?

A Secondary glazing is matched and coloured to your existing windows and so is not noticeable from outside and looks great inside. Also has no body corporate issues and has been approved by The Heritage Council of Australia.
